Regional Multi-Actor Research Network(RMRN)
Why Regional Multi-actor Research Network(RMRN)
Africa’s food systems are at a crossroads. Over 200 million people face food insecurity, while the continent spends more than USD 60 billion annually on food imports. Unsustainable farming practices have degraded soils, reduced biodiversity, and made farmers vulnerable to climate shocks.
This project — led by the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) and the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) with technical support from the European Union’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) — is working to turn the tide. By empowering Regional Centres of Excellence (RCoEs), we are building the science, knowledge, and policies needed to scale agroecology across Africa.
